A recent incident at the Medaram Jatara has sparked widespread discussion across Telangana, bringing political and social concerns into focus. Allegations surfaced that a small trader from Kurnool, named Wali, was harassed by a group of YouTubers while he was earning his livelihood at the fair.

Reacting strongly, AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi urged the Telangana government and police to take firm action. He said targeting a poor vendor and giving the issue a communal angle was deeply unjust and harmful to social harmony.

Owaisi criticised the practice of filming vendors and circulating videos on social media under the pretext of hygiene concerns. He said that if food quality issues exist, complaints should be made to food safety authorities instead of humiliating individuals online for views and attention.

He warned that such actions not only hurt one family but also threaten the livelihoods of countless small traders who depend on fairs and festivals to survive. Owaisi stressed that spreading religious hostility for digital popularity damages society and must be stopped.

Calling for accountability, he demanded strict action against YouTubers and social media influencers who deliberately provoke communal tensions. He reiterated that protecting small traders and maintaining social harmony should be the priority of both authorities and citizens.
