The Telangana government has announced another major relief for farmers by releasing pending bonus payments for fine variety paddy. As part of this move, funds worth ₹514.36 crore are being credited directly to farmers’ bank accounts, bringing timely support to the agricultural community.
Officials from the Civil Supplies Department confirmed that the government has cleared the long pending dues by approving a ₹500 bonus per quintal for fine variety paddy. With this decision, around 2.17 lakh farmers who cultivated fine rice during the Kharif season will benefit across the state.
The bonus was a key promise made by the Congress party ahead of the elections, aimed at encouraging farmers to grow premium quality paddy. After assuming office, the Revanth Reddy government has continued implementing the assurance, strengthening confidence among farmers in the administration’s commitments.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy said the government remains firmly committed to standing with farmers and supporting agriculture. He stated that the bonus payments will ease financial pressure on farmers and help them manage upcoming cultivation expenses.
The government also revealed that a total of ₹1,939.58 crore has already been released so far under the fine paddy bonus scheme. With the latest payment clearance, the state aims to further boost farmer morale and reinforce its focus on agricultural welfare.
