Telangana Earthquake Triggers Midnight Panic in Mancherial and Asifabad

Midnight tremors shook parts of Telangana including Mancherial and Komaram Bheem Asifabad with a 3.9 magnitude quake forcing residents out of homes and raising fresh safety concerns across the region.

A mild earthquake struck parts of Telangana late at night, sending waves of fear through Mancherial and Komaram Bheem Asifabad districts. The sudden tremors woke people from sleep and pushed many residents out of their homes in panic.

According to officials, the earthquake measured 3.9 on the Richter scale. The epicentre was located about 35 kilometres from Mancherial district. Locals reported that furniture shifted and household items fell during the brief shaking.

In several villages including Bejjur mandal Marthidi, residents said the ground vibrated for nearly three seconds. CCTV footage showing objects shaking inside houses quickly surfaced on social media, reflecting the fear felt by families at midnight.

Authorities confirmed that the tremors were also felt in nearby border areas of Maharashtra. Despite the panic, no loss of life or major property damage was reported, bringing some relief to affected communities.

This incident comes just weeks after tremors were felt in parts of Hyderabad and surrounding districts. Repeated seismic activity in the region has sparked concern among residents, many of whom say they have never experienced such events before.
