  • Telangana Government enables online city and interstate booking.
  • Dynamic QR security added to prevent digital pass misuse.

In a major push toward digital governance, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation has shifted its bus pass system to a fully online mode through the Mee Ticket mobile application. The initiative, backed by the Telangana Government, aims to eliminate long queues at bus depots and make public transport services more accessible.

With this move, students, employees and regular commuters can now apply for and receive their bus passes directly on their smartphones. The new system allows not only city bus passes but also intercity and interstate travel tickets to be booked digitally, reducing paperwork and saving valuable time for passengers.

Officials stated that Telangana has become the first state in the country to issue bus passes directly through an official government mobile application. The decision is seen as part of a broader effort to strengthen citizen services using technology driven platforms.

To prevent misuse, advanced security features have been built into the digital pass system. Each pass comes with a dynamic QR code for real time verification. A live validity indicator ensures authenticity, while anti screenshot protection blocks attempts to share or duplicate passes. These safeguards are expected to stop fraudulent usage and ensure that passes are used only by the rightful holder.

Transport authorities believe this digital transition will improve efficiency, increase transparency and enhance passenger convenience. For daily commuters who once spent hours waiting at counters, the change marks a significant and welcome relief.
