Massive Ganja Seizure in Malkajgiri, Two Interstate Smugglers Held

In a major breakthrough against drug trafficking, SOT police carried out a successful operation in the Malkajgiri area of Hyderabad, leading to the seizure of a large quantity of ganja and the arrest of two interstate smugglers.

The arrests were made during routine vehicle inspections near the Outer Ring Road at Abdullahpurmet. Police officials stopped a Kia car that raised suspicion and found it loaded with ganja meant for illegal distribution.

The accused were identified as Nabin Sabhar and Sudhakar Mandal, both natives of Gajapati district in Odisha. Investigators revealed that the duo had been transporting ganja from Odisha and routing it through Hyderabad to supply markets in Karnataka and Maharashtra.

According to police, the smugglers used a private car to avoid detection and moved the contraband up to the ORR limits before delivering it further. From the accused, officers seized 164 kilograms of ganja along with the Kia vehicle used for transport.

A case has been registered under relevant sections, and further investigation is underway to identify other links in the drug supply chain. Police officials stated that intensified checks will continue to curb interstate narcotics smuggling.
