As the city prepares for Holi, senior police official V. C. Sajjanar has issued a clear warning urging citizens to celebrate the festival in a peaceful and respectful manner.
Speaking during a review meeting at the Integrated Command and Control Centre, Sajjanar emphasized that no individual should be forced to participate in Holi celebrations. He made it clear that throwing colours or coloured water on people who do not wish to take part, including pedestrians and motorists, will invite strict legal action.
With Ramzan prayers underway, officials have been instructed to ensure that festivities do not disrupt religious practices. Additional police deployment has been planned in sensitive areas to prevent any untoward incidents and maintain communal harmony.

Special focus is being placed on women’s safety, with She Teams conducting active monitoring across the city. Authorities warned that creating public nuisance by moving in groups on roads will lead to vehicle seizures. DJ sound systems have been banned, and citizens have been advised to use only natural colours instead of chemical-based ones.
To further ensure law and order, liquor shops, bars, and toddy compounds within the Hyderabad Commissionerate limits will remain closed from 6 am to 6 pm on Tuesday. Police have urged residents to immediately contact emergency services in case of any disturbance.
Officials reiterated that celebrations should spread joy, not discomfort, and appealed to citizens to cooperate in making Holi safe and inclusive for everyone.
