A shocking murder case has come to light in Khammam district of Telangana where a woman allegedly orchestrated the killing of her own husband to claim a large insurance payout. Police revealed that the crime was carefully planned and executed with the help of several accomplices.

The victim has been identified as Chaganti Ravi aged 52 an auto driver from Khammam city. According to investigators Ravi had been struggling with health problems for some time and was also addicted to alcohol. His wife Prashanthi reportedly believed that he might die due to his health condition and began planning to benefit financially from his death.

Last year in July she allegedly arranged an insurance policy worth 66 lakh rupees in Ravi name with the help of a relative named Srinivas. However as months passed Ravi health began to improve which reportedly caused frustration for Prashanthi who was waiting to claim the insurance money.

Police say she then decided to eliminate her husband and entered into an agreement with Srinivas along with three others Rajkumar Venkatesh and Rambabu. She reportedly promised them half of the insurance money if they helped carry out the murder.

Following the plan on the second of this month Ravi was allegedly made to consume large amounts of alcohol before being taken to an isolated area near VV Palem outskirts. The accused then reportedly hit him with a car in an attempt to stage the incident as a road accident.

However the suspicious circumstances surrounding the death prompted police to conduct a detailed investigation. Using technical evidence and thorough questioning investigators uncovered the murder plot behind the incident.

Police have now arrested Prashanthi along with four other accused involved in the crime. All the suspects have been taken into custody and remanded while further investigation into the Khammam insurance murder case continues.
