The Telangana government is preparing to introduce a new welfare initiative aimed at empowering women farmers across the state. The proposed scheme will provide financial assistance and modern agricultural machinery to support women actively involved in farming.
Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao announced the plan during a Mega Rythu Mela held at Professor Jayashankar Agricultural University in Rajendranagar. He said the government under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is committed to strengthening the agriculture sector and supporting farmers through innovative policies.
According to the minister the upcoming scheme will focus on agricultural mechanization specifically for women farmers. Under this initiative women engaged in farming activities will be able to access modern machines with government subsidies and financial support.
He explained that the objective is to reduce the burden of manual labor and help women farmers adopt modern technology in agriculture. With the use of advanced equipment the cultivation process is expected to become easier while improving productivity in the fields.
The minister also highlighted that many women in rural areas currently work only as farm laborers. Through the new scheme the government aims to help them become independent farmers capable of operating machinery and managing agricultural activities more efficiently.
The initiative is also expected to strengthen the financial position of women farmers in villages and encourage greater participation in agriculture related decision making.
During the same event Minister Sridhar Babu advised farmers to adopt modern technology and scientific farming practices. He suggested that farmers should avoid cultivating the same crop every year and instead practice crop rotation to achieve better yields and sustainable income.
The Telangana government believes that such initiatives will modernize the agriculture sector while creating new opportunities for farmers especially women who play a vital role in rural farming activities.
