Hyderabad Metro passengers have received a major convenience as a new payment option now allows them to buy metro tickets without internet connectivity. The initiative is expected to make daily travel smoother and faster for thousands of commuters across the city.
To address common problems such as long queues at ticket counters cash shortages and network related payment issues a new prepaid mobility card has been introduced for passengers. The card enables travelers to make quick payments at metro stations without depending on internet access.
The service has been launched through a fintech collaboration that introduced the On the Go RuPay mobility card. This card operates under the National Common Mobility Card system which is designed to support multiple transport services across the country.
Passengers can purchase the card directly at metro station ticket counters. After completing a simple mobile number verification process through an OTP the card becomes active and ready to use.
Users can load money onto the card using digital payment methods such as UPI or other online payment options. Since it works on a prepaid system travelers can maintain a balance and use it whenever they travel.
The card allows commuters to store up to two thousand rupees which can be used for metro travel without needing internet connectivity at the time of payment.
At the entry gates passengers simply need to tap the card on the payment terminal to complete the transaction quickly. This tap and pay method helps reduce waiting time and ensures a smooth entry into the metro system.

It can be used for payments in buses toll plazas and parking facilities wherever the National Common Mobility Card system is supported.
With the introduction of this internet free payment option Hyderabad Metro aims to make urban travel more efficient and convenient while encouraging the use of digital mobility solutions in public transport.
