The incident occurred in the Pocharam police station limits where the victim and the accused were previously engaged to be married. However the wedding was called off after the woman and her family reportedly learned that the man was HIV positive.

According to police sources the woman decided to cancel the marriage after discovering the health condition. Despite her decision the man allegedly continued to pressure her to go ahead with the wedding and repeatedly approached her with the same demand.

Investigators said the accused recently visited the woman home again and tried to convince her to marry him. When she refused once more he allegedly carried out a shocking act by injecting her with a substance claiming it was related to HIV before fleeing the scene.

Family members immediately rushed the woman to a nearby hospital after learning about the incident. Doctors began medical evaluation and treatment while authorities were informed about the attack.
