Amid rising temperatures and unusual weather patterns, the India Meteorological Department has forecast moderate rainfall across several districts of Telangana for three days starting April 4. The development is expected to bring temporary relief to people struggling with intense heat during daytime.

The state has been witnessing contrasting weather conditions with scorching heat and humidity during the day followed by relatively cooler nights. Such fluctuations have surprised many residents, as similar patterns have rarely been observed in the past.

According to the weather department, light to moderate rainfall is likely in districts including Nizamabad Karimnagar Medak Adilabad Sangareddy Warangal Rangareddy Khammam Nalgonda and Hyderabad. The rainfall is expected to occur between Saturday and Monday in multiple parts of the state.

The IMD has also warned that these rains may be accompanied by thunderstorms lightning and gusty winds with speeds ranging between 30 to 40 kilometres per hour. These conditions are being driven by a trough extending from Maharashtra through Karnataka to southern Tamil Nadu along with a cyclonic circulation over the Yanam coastal region.

In recent days, temperatures have remained high across Telangana. Adilabad district recorded the highest temperature of 40.5 degrees Celsius, followed by Nalgonda and Mulugu districts reporting temperatures above 39 degrees Celsius. The upcoming rainfall is expected to offer some relief from this heat.

Meanwhile, the weather department has also issued alerts for other parts of the country. Northwestern regions may experience hailstorms and heavy rainfall due to the influence of western disturbances. Areas in central and southern India could also witness thunderstorms and rain until April 7.

Officials have advised people to remain cautious during thunderstorms and strong winds while welcoming the rainfall that is likely to ease the prevailing heat conditions across Telangana.
