A disturbing incident in Sangareddy district has sparked outrage after an Anganwadi teacher was brutally assaulted by villagers over a financial dispute linked to her husband. The shocking act has raised serious concerns about growing mob violence and lack of basic humanity.
The victim identified as Vasantha Kumari works as an Anganwadi teacher in Rasol village under Kangti mandal. According to reports her husband Prabhakar had allegedly collected money from several villagers under the name of a finance scheme and failed to return it. Enraged over the issue a group of villagers targeted his wife instead.
In a horrifying sequence the villagers dragged Vasantha Kumari by her hair tied her to a tree and assaulted her for over an hour. Despite her repeated pleas that she had no role in her husband’s actions the attackers showed no mercy and continued the abuse.
The accused reportedly threatened to cut her hair and parade her through the village on a donkey further intensifying the cruelty of the act. The assault only stopped after village elders intervened and managed to secure her release.
Following the incident the injured woman approached the police and filed a complaint. Authorities have registered a case against five individuals and initiated an investigation into the matter.
Police officials confirmed that the attack was carried out by villagers who accused her husband of cheating them after collecting money under the name of finance and insurance schemes. However officials stressed that taking law into their own hands and targeting an innocent person is a serious offense.
The incident has triggered widespread condemnation on social media with many demanding strict action against those responsible. Citizens have questioned how a woman with no direct involvement was subjected to such inhuman treatment and called for justice to be served.
