A tragic incident in Telangana’s Siddipet district claimed the lives of three young men who drowned in a stream near Nacharam village after attending a wedding and visiting a nearby temple.
Police said the victims had travelled from Narsapur village to Toopran on Wednesday to participate in a friend’s marriage ceremony. Later in the day, the group visited the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Nacharam for darshan before the tragedy unfolded.
While returning from the temple, the youths reportedly entered the Haldhi Vaagu stream near Nacharam in Wargal mandal. According to investigators, none of them knew how to swim, but they ventured into deeper water and were unable to come out.
When the three men failed to return, their friends and relatives began searching for them. Their bodies were recovered from the stream on Thursday morning, bringing shock and grief to the local community.
The deceased were identified as Yerragolla Prasanth aged 27, Vikas aged 26 and K Anand Reddy aged 27. All three belonged to Narsapur village in Siddipet district.
Police shifted the bodies to a government hospital for post mortem examination and registered a case. An investigation has been launched to determine the exact sequence of events leading to the drowning incident.

In another road mishap in Suryapet district, a private travel bus travelling from Hyderabad to Vijayawada collided with a DCM vehicle near Dwarakunt in Kodad mandal. Police said around 30 passengers were travelling in the bus and a few of them suffered minor injuries.
Rescue teams and police personnel rushed to the accident site and shifted the injured passengers to a nearby hospital. Preliminary investigation suggests the bus driver may have fallen asleep while driving, leading to the collision. Police have registered a case and started an inquiry into the incident.
