A shocking murder in Telangana’s Suryapet district has triggered outrage after a woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her husband in full public view near a busy market area in Kodad mandal.
The victim, identified as Sirisha from Jangayapet, was married to Manideep, a lorry driver. According to police sources, the couple had been facing serious marital issues for some time and disputes between them had reportedly intensified in recent weeks.
Officials said Sirisha had recently approached the Kodad Town Police and lodged a complaint against her husband following repeated conflicts. Investigators suspect the accused became angry over the police complaint and planned the attack.
On Wednesday, Sirisha was reportedly heading towards the market when the accused allegedly followed her and attacked her with a knife in a crowded public area. Witnesses said several people nearby tried to intervene and stop the assault, but the attack happened within moments.
The entire incident was captured on nearby CCTV cameras and videos related to the attack later surfaced online, causing shock among local residents. Police teams reached the scene soon after the incident and began collecting evidence from the area.
Authorities said the woman suffered multiple stab injuries and died at the spot. Police have launched an investigation into the murder and further details regarding the accused and possible legal action are expected to be released after preliminary inquiry.
The incident has once again raised concerns over rising domestic violence related crimes and public safety in Telangana.
