Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s convoy travelled through regular traffic in Hyderabad on Thursday following his instructions to police officials not to disrupt the movement of the public for VIP travel.
The Chief Minister returned from Shamshabad Airport to his residence while traffic continued to move normally on city roads. Unlike traditional VIP movements where vehicles are stopped across multiple junctions, commuters were allowed to continue their journey with only limited traffic regulation.
A day earlier, Revanth Reddy had directed senior police officials and the DGP to ensure that common people do not face inconvenience because of his convoy movement. He reportedly asked authorities to avoid unnecessary traffic blockades and minimise disruptions for office goers and daily commuters.
Following these instructions, traffic police adopted a different arrangement during the convoy movement. Instead of completely halting vehicles on roads, officials allowed traffic to continue in a controlled single lane while the Chief Minister’s convoy passed through the city.
The decision drew attention from many commuters who noticed smoother movement compared to earlier VIP security protocols. Several motorists appreciated the effort to reduce waiting time and avoid long traffic stoppages during peak hours.
Officials said the new approach was intended to balance public convenience with security requirements. Traffic personnel remained deployed at important junctions to ensure the convoy moved safely without causing major delays for the public.
The Chief Minister’s move is being viewed as an attempt to make official travel more citizen friendly and reduce traffic inconvenience in busy areas of Hyderabad.
