Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan strongly reacted to the continued detention of ISKCON spiritual leader Chinmoy Krishna Das in Bangladesh and urged authorities there to grant him immediate bail.

Expressing concern through social media posts, Pawan Kalyan said the monk has been spending more than 500 days in prison and questioned whether supporting the rights of Hindus had become a punishable act.

He stated that the entire world was closely watching how the Bangladesh government was handling the issue involving a religious figure. Pawan also appealed to authorities to ensure proper medical treatment and basic facilities for Chinmoy Krishna Das while he remains in custody.

The Jana Sena leader further criticised reports of threats and attacks against lawyers representing the ISKCON monk in courts. He said such incidents raise serious concerns about the protection of legal rights and democratic values.

According to Pawan Kalyan, if advocates themselves are unable to argue cases freely without fear, ordinary citizens may lose confidence in the justice system. He described attacks within court premises as a serious stain on democracy and rule of law.

Pawan also condemned what he called the silence of certain human rights groups and self proclaimed secular voices over alleged attacks on the Hindu community. He accused some groups of selectively ignoring issues affecting Hindus while speaking loudly on other matters.

The Deputy Chief Minister demanded that all alleged false cases against Chinmoy Krishna Das be withdrawn and called for a transparent legal process without political or ideological pressure.

He also referred to developments in the case where the monk reportedly received bail from a High Court earlier, only for the relief to be stalled later. Pawan questioned the continuation of virtual hearings while keeping the spiritual leader in prison for such a long period.
