Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has appealed to the Telangana government to postpone Osmania University degree examinations scheduled on the day of Bakrid in 2026. Raising concerns over the difficulties students may face during one of the most important Islamic festivals, he requested authorities to reconsider the exam timetable and shift the tests to another date.

Owaisi shared his concerns through social media and urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy along with the state Chief Secretary to intervene in the matter. He pointed out that Bakrid will be observed on May 28 and conducting major university examinations on the same day could create stress and inconvenience for Muslim students participating in the celebrations.

According to the current schedule, important examinations including BCom fourth semester Business Statistics and sixth semester Accounting Standards are planned on the festival day. Owaisi said students preparing for these difficult subjects may experience mental pressure if they are forced to balance religious celebrations and examinations simultaneously.

The Hyderabad MP emphasized that rescheduling the exams would help protect the interests of students and ensure they can participate in the festival without academic tension. His appeal has now sparked discussion among students and parents, with many waiting to see whether the government or university authorities will respond positively.

Meanwhile, Telangana students are also celebrating the release of this year’s EAPCET results. In the engineering stream, Malladi Rushi from Medchal district secured the state first rank and attracted attention for her outstanding performance. Her achievement stood out because girls usually dominate medical entrance rankings, while this year a female student topped the engineering category.

In the agriculture stream, Mukarram Ahmed secured the first rank and received appreciation from education officials. The Telangana government and Higher Education Council congratulated all successful students for their performances in the entrance examinations.
