The victim has been identified as Chandan Kumar, 37, a native of Tyamagondlu near Nelamangala on the outskirts of Bengaluru. He had been working in Canada for the past six years with a private company and had built a quiet life abroad while staying closely connected to his hometown and community.
According to preliminary information, Chandan was travelling in his car around 9 pm when unknown assailants opened fire on the vehicle. Several bullets pierced the car and struck him. He collapsed inside the vehicle and died on the spot before help could arrive.
