Karnataka: Acid Attack in Chitradurga Leaves Woman and Children Seriously Injured
A violent acid attack in Chitradurga left five people including a woman and children seriously injured after a dispute involving a former husband police have launched a search.

A shocking acid attack in Chitradurga has left five people including a woman and children seriously injured. The incident occurred on Thursday evening in the Malappanahatti area and has triggered a police investigation to track down the accused.
Police said the suspected attacker has been identified as Suhail Basha also known as Suhail who is a resident of Nehru Nagar in Chitradurga. Authorities believe the attack was linked to a personal dispute following a divorce.
According to preliminary information Suhail allegedly confronted his former wife Tahasina Banu during the incident. In a sudden act of violence he first attacked her with a sharp weapon before pouring acid on her hands and legs.
The situation escalated when others nearby tried to intervene and stop the assault. During the attempt to separate the attacker and the victim several people were exposed to the acid and suffered serious injuries.
Those injured in the attack have been identified as Tahasina Banu aged forty seven Nagma Nayak aged forty nine Roshni aged twelve Neha aged twenty seven and four year old Iksra Fathima.
All the injured victims were rushed to a private hospital in Davanagere where they are currently undergoing treatment. Doctors are monitoring their condition closely as some of the injuries are reported to be severe.
Following the incident police registered a case and began an investigation under the jurisdiction of the Kote police station. Special teams have been formed to locate the accused who fled from the scene after carrying out the attack.
Meanwhile officials from the District Legal Services Authority visited the hospital to check on the victims and assess their medical condition. Member Secretary M Vijay met the injured and gathered information about the incident.
Police have launched a search operation involving multiple teams to trace the suspect and determine the exact sequence of events that led to the violent attack. Authorities have assured that strict action will be taken once the accused is apprehended.
