Karnataka Guarantee Schemes Provide Annual Financial Strength Says CM Siddaramaiah
The Karnataka Government says its guarantee schemes are delivering nearly Rs 60000 in annual financial support to every family, aiming to boost purchasing power, reduce inequality, and strengthen social justice across the state.
Karnataka: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday said the state’s guarantee schemes are injecting significant financial strength into households, with each family receiving benefits worth nearly Rs 60000 per year. According to him, these initiatives are not just welfare measures but instruments designed to increase people’s purchasing power and improve everyday economic stability.
He was speaking after inaugurating the historic Hampi Utsav 2026 celebrations in Hampi, located in Vijayanagara district. The Chief Minister noted that since 2023, the government has implemented a series of guarantee schemes alongside several welfare programs. These schemes, he said, were introduced with a clear objective of addressing inequality and ensuring that development reaches all sections of society.
Siddaramaiah emphasized that eliminating the caste system would remain impossible unless people are empowered both economically and socially. True social transformation, he said, requires financial independence and equal opportunities for all communities.
Highlighting the cultural significance of the event, the Chief Minister said the state government is celebrating Hampi Utsav in a grand manner. He credited the late MP Prakash as the driving force behind organizing such large scale celebrations and described him as a rare and visionary leader. The government has now decided to hold the festival annually on November 3, 4, and 5.
He further remarked that a society which does not understand its history cannot create new history. Referring to the Vijayanagara Empire, he said the region once flourished as a prosperous and culturally rich land. The present government, he added, is equally committed to promoting literature, art, and culture. The glory of Hampi during the Vijayanagara period, he said, continues to inspire people, with historical accounts including those of foreign traveler Abdul Razzaq describing it as a wealthy and magnificent city.
