Karnataka: Lokayukta raid exposes massive assets linked to Sarfaraz Khan
Lokayukta raids linked to senior housing department official uncover assets worth over fourteen crore rupees including land homes vehicles jewellery and investments during disproportionate assets investigation in Bengaluru city Karnataka
Karnataka, Bengaluru: The Karnataka Lokayukta has revealed large scale assets allegedly held by senior government official Sardar Sarfaraz Khan following coordinated raids at multiple locations connected to him and his close relatives in Bengaluru and nearby areas.
According to officials the searches were conducted as part of a disproportionate assets investigation. Raids were carried out on December twenty four at thirteen locations including residences offices and properties linked to Khan and his family members.
Sarfaraz Khan is currently serving as a government secretary in the housing and minority welfare department. He is also known to be a close associate of housing and minority welfare minister B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan which has added political attention to the case.
During the searches Lokayukta teams found that Khan owned four residential houses and nearly thirty seven acres of agricultural land. Officials have estimated the value of these immovable properties at around rupees eight point four four crore.
Investigators also recovered valuables and investments including jewellery worth about rupees three crore vehicles valued at rupees one point six four crore along with fixed deposits and other financial investments estimated at rupees five point nine four crore.
The total value of assets detected during the raids is estimated at approximately rupees fourteen point three eight crore. Officials stated that further legal action will depend on the detailed assessment of income sources and the post raid investigation process.
