Karnataka is set to witness a major expansion of Tata Group operations, with the conglomerate announcing investment plans of 2.9 billion dollars for upcoming projects across multiple sectors. The announcement came after a high level delegation met the Chief Minister to discuss ongoing and future initiatives in the state.
During the meeting, the leadership of Tata Advanced Systems informed the government that the group has already built a significant presence in Karnataka, employing more than 136600 people across 27 companies. In the aerospace sector, plans are underway to establish South India’s first integrated civil and defence MRO hub through a joint initiative involving Air India and Tata Advanced Systems. The project is expected to be developed with an investment of around 455 million dollars. The group is also advancing defence manufacturing projects including helicopter assembly lines, indigenous artillery systems and unmanned aerial vehicle platforms.
Tata Power is currently developing projects with a combined capacity of more than 2507 megawatts in Karnataka, aiming to boost renewable energy output over the next five years. Meanwhile, Tata Electronics is preparing to scale up its electronics manufacturing services and semiconductor assembly and testing facilities within the next two years. Indian Hotels Company Limited has also lined up nine hotel projects in different stages of development in the state.
