The Anti Corruption Bureau carried out extensive searches at the residence of Hyderabad Water Board General Manager Kumar on Tuesday as part of a disproportionate assets investigation. Officials launched coordinated raids at eight locations connected to him and his relatives across Hyderabad and other areas.

The searches began early in the morning with special teams inspecting Kumar’s house in Mallapur under the supervision of ACB DSP Majeed Ali Khan. Officials also continued inspections at properties linked to family members and close associates.

During the raids, investigators reportedly recovered massive amounts of cash stacked in different parts of the house. Officials were stunned after finding bundles of currency notes in large quantities, forcing them to use counting machines to calculate the seized money. According to preliminary estimates, the ACB recovered nearly Rs 1.20 crore in cash, around 1.5 kilograms of gold ornaments, and 2.5 kilograms of silver items.

The investigation further revealed several high value properties allegedly connected to the official. ACB teams identified three acres of agricultural land in Nizamabad, three flats inside a gated community in Hyderabad, and six open plots. Two cars parked at the Mallapur residence were also seized during the operation.

Officials are now preparing to examine bank lockers to trace additional assets and financial records. Based on the initial assessment, investigators suspect that the total market value of the properties linked to Kumar could exceed Rs 100 crore.

Sources also indicated that Kumar recently organized his daughter’s wedding on a grand scale, allegedly spending huge amounts of money. ACB officers are now questioning him to determine the source of the funds and whether the assets were acquired beyond his known income sources.
