Bhatti Vikramarka Seeks FRBM Relief For Education Investments
Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka requested additional financial support and policy flexibility from the Centre to strengthen educational infrastructure and development projects across the state.

Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi and requested greater financial support for the state while highlighting the importance of long term investments in education and development sectors.
During the meeting, Bhatti reportedly urged the Centre to consider granting flexibility under FRBM norms for investments related to the education sector. He explained that large scale infrastructure expansion and educational projects require significant financial resources to meet future development goals.
The Deputy Chief Minister also requested special financial assistance of Rs 5000 crore under government support programs and emphasized the need for additional backing for ongoing welfare and development activities in Telangana.
Officials stated that the discussion also focused on the financial challenges faced by the state. Bhatti explained that although newly formed states are progressing rapidly, repayment obligations linked to earlier borrowings and financial commitments have increased pressure on the state economy.
He informed the Union Finance Minister that Telangana has been continuing large scale investments in education, healthcare, rural infrastructure and human resource development initiatives aimed at strengthening long term growth.
The state government is also working on ambitious educational plans through the Young India Integrated Residential Schools initiative. According to the proposals discussed, Telangana is preparing major investments for school campuses, educational institutions and digital infrastructure development to improve learning opportunities for students.
