CM Revanth Reddy Invites Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for Gandhi Sarovar Foundation Ceremony

CM Revanth Reddy meets Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi and invites him to lay foundation stone for Gandhi Sarovar project under Musi River rejuvenation later this month.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi and formally invited him to attend the foundation stone ceremony of the Gandhi Sarovar project. The meeting took place at the Defence Minister’s residence.

The Chief Minister informed Rajnath Singh that the foundation ceremony for Gandhi Sarovar will be held in the last week of February as part of the ambitious Musi River rejuvenation programme. He explained that the project is being developed at the confluence of the Esa and Musi rivers, a site of historical and emotional significance.

Revanth Reddy highlighted that in 1948, the ashes of Mahatma Gandhi were immersed at the same Esa Musi confluence, making the location deeply symbolic. He said the Telangana government aims to preserve and enhance this heritage through the Gandhi Sarovar initiative.

As part of the Musi River rejuvenation project, the Gandhi Sarovar development will also include the transformation of Bapu Ghat into a global landmark. The Chief Minister said the area will be developed as a centre for education culture spirituality environment and public remembrance.

Members of Parliament Mallu Ravi, Gaddam Vamsikrishna, Kadiyam Kavya and Anil Kumar Yadav were also present during the meeting. The Telangana government hopes the participation of Rajnath Singh will add national significance to the Gandhi Sarovar foundation ceremony and the larger Musi River revival effort.
