Efforts to bring a new railway line between Dornakal and Gadwal have gathered pace, with Nagarkurnool MP Mallu Ravi taking a key step by obtaining the official alignment map from South Central Railway authorities. The move is expected to strengthen the case for improved connectivity in backward regions of Telangana.

The proposed railway line is being positioned as a major infrastructure project that could transform transportation access across several districts. According to the MP, the route has been carefully planned to connect important areas including Suryapet, Nalgonda, Kalwakurthy, Nagarkurnool, and Wanaparthy before linking with the existing Gadwal railway network.

Highlighting the importance of the project, Mallu Ravi stated that he has sought appointments with the Railway Board Chairman and the Union Railway Minister to present the proposal. He intends to explain how the project can drive both economic and social growth in underserved regions by improving connectivity and access to major railway corridors.

The MP also emphasized that the railway line should not be judged solely on revenue potential. Instead, he urged authorities to consider it under development focused initiatives aimed at uplifting backward areas. He pointed out that similar schemes were introduced in the past to support regional development through railway expansion.

As part of building public support, discussions on the project will be held in local party meetings across Nagarkurnool and Wanaparthy districts. The MP has also called on residents of the constituency to actively support the initiative, stating that collective efforts are crucial to securing approval.

If completed, the Dornakal Gadwal railway line is expected to significantly enhance connectivity and contribute to regional growth. It would link remote areas to major railway networks, opening new opportunities for trade, travel, and overall development in the region.
