A Telangana court has ordered 14 day judicial remand for former MLA Rohith Reddy in connection with a drugs party case that recently came to light. The development follows a police investigation into an alleged gathering where drugs were reportedly used.
Rohith Reddy, along with his brother Ritesh Reddy and another accused Namit Sharma, was produced before the court by the police. After hearing the case details, the court directed that the three accused be sent to judicial remand.
Police said the case is linked to a party allegedly organised by Rohith Reddy where several individuals were present. During the investigation, authorities identified eleven people who had reportedly attended the gathering.
Officials stated that eight individuals who were present at the party were issued notices and later released after questioning. However, Rohith Reddy, his brother Ritesh Reddy and Namit Sharma were taken into custody and presented before the court.
According to investigators, Namit Sharma is also accused of firing at police personnel during the incident. Following the court order, all three accused were shifted to Chanchalguda Central Jail to remain in remand custody.
Police officials said the investigation into the Telangana drugs party case is still ongoing and further details may emerge as the probe continues.
