Funds Released for Village Development in Peddapalli District Says Collector Koya Sri Harsha
Special funds worth Rs 21.04 crore have been released to village panchayats in Peddapalli district under the Fifteenth Finance Commission to strengthen sanitation infrastructure drinking water and streetlight maintenance.

Village panchayats across Peddapalli district have received fresh financial support as part of the government’s village development initiative. District Collector Koya Sri Harsha announced that a total of Rs 21.04 crore has been released to strengthen basic facilities in rural areas.
The funds were provided under the Fifteenth Finance Commission to improve essential services such as sanitation infrastructure drinking water supply and maintenance of streetlights in villages. The initiative is being implemented under the Praja Palana Pragathi plan aimed at improving living standards in rural communities.
According to the collector, the funds were released in three installments on January 13 February 17 and February 26 in 2026. These allocations cover village panchayats across the thirteen rural mandals of Peddapalli district for the financial years 2023 to 2024 and 2024 to 2025.
Officials explained that the released amount includes two categories of grants. Out of the total Rs 21.04 crore an amount of Rs 5.73 crore has been provided as untied grants while Rs 15.31 crore has been allocated as tied grants.
Untied grants will be used for administrative needs including electricity bill payments staff salaries and other office expenses. Tied grants will primarily support development works and infrastructure improvements in villages.
District officials stated that these funds are expected to help village panchayats maintain essential services and accelerate development activities across rural areas of Peddapalli district.
