- Mobile app booking will help drivers find nearby slots.
- The system aims to reduce traffic caused by roadside parking.
Hyderabad is set to see a major change in how vehicles are parked on busy streets as the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation moves ahead with a smart parking initiative designed to reduce daily traffic stress for motorists.
Under this plan drivers will be able to locate vacant parking slots within a short distance using a mobile application and reserve space by paying the fee online. Officials say the system is expected to cut down random parking that often leads to traffic bottlenecks across key commercial areas.
The project is being launched initially as a pilot in selected locations of Khairatabad zone where parking demand remains high throughout the day. Sensors installed at marked parking spaces will track availability in real time and share live updates with the app helping users make quicker decisions.
Authorities believe that once the pilot shows results the smart parking model will be extended across more parts of the city. With structured on street parking and digital monitoring the corporation aims to bring order to crowded roads and improve overall traffic movement.
City officials say the initiative reflects a shift towards technology driven urban management where convenience and efficiency for citizens take priority in everyday services.
