Glatt Prefer Co Center of Excellence to Come Up in Genome Valley
A new international Center of Excellence backed by German firms Glatt and Prefer Co will be set up in Genome Valley to strengthen bioprocessing infrastructure and accelerate biotech innovation.

The state is set to strengthen its biotechnology ecosystem with the establishment of a new international Center of Excellence in Genome Valley. German companies Glatt and Prefer Co are jointly setting up the facility to support large scale bioprocess expansion and advanced manufacturing needs.
The announcement was made during the BioAsia conference in the presence of RICH CEO Rashmi Pimpale. She said the Center of Excellence will significantly enhance bioprocessing infrastructure and create a strong foundation for next generation biopharmaceutical and industrial biotechnology development.
As part of the initiative, high capacity microbial fermentation systems with 1500 litre bioreactors will be installed. The facility will feature full automation modern equipment and AI driven process support to ensure efficient and scalable fermentation operations.
Officials said the new center will play a key role in strengthening research industry collaboration while supporting innovation driven manufacturing. The project is aligned with the central government Bio E3 vision that focuses on biotechnology for economic growth environmental sustainability and employment generation.
With this addition Genome Valley is expected to further cement its position as a global biotechnology hub attracting international expertise investments and advanced research capabilities.
