A disturbing incident in Medchal district has drawn attention after a family dispute ended in a fatal assault. A woman lost her life after she was allegedly attacked by her son in law during a bike ride in Chengicherla area.

According to police officials, the victim Aruna had intervened in her daughter’s marital issues, hoping to resolve ongoing conflicts between the couple. The marriage, which began as a love union about a year ago, had reportedly been facing tension in recent months.

On April 29, the accused Sneeth visited his mother in law and took her on a bike. What followed was a heated argument between the two while they were on the road. CCTV footage later revealed that during the argument, he allegedly struck her on the head with a helmet in a moment of anger.

Soon after the incident, the accused informed his wife that Aruna had suffered a medical episode and fallen from the bike. She was initially taken to a nearby hospital and later shifted to another facility for better treatment.

However, Aruna succumbed to her injuries on April 30 while undergoing treatment. Her daughter grew suspicious about the circumstances of the fall and approached the police with a complaint.

During the investigation, CCTV footage played a key role in uncovering the sequence of events. Police confirmed that the visuals showed a physical altercation and the helmet attack that caused her to fall and sustain severe injuries.

The accused has been arrested and remanded to custody. Meanwhile, police are continuing their investigation to verify all claims and establish the exact cause of death, as the accused maintains that the victim fell after suffering fits.
