In a major legal relief for senior BRS leaders, the High Court has dismissed the cases filed against K Chandrashekar Rao, K T Rama Rao, and T Harish Rao in connection with the 2011 Million March incident in Hyderabad.
The case dates back to the protest held at Tank Bund, where tensions had escalated during the Million March movement. Following the incident, police had registered cases and named the leaders as accused, linking them to the events that unfolded during the agitation.
During the hearing, legal representatives argued that the three leaders had no direct role in the incidents that led to the unrest. After reviewing the submissions and circumstances, the court found insufficient grounds to continue proceedings against them.
Accepting these arguments, the High Court quashed the cases, effectively clearing the leaders of all charges related to the protest. The decision is being seen as a significant development, bringing closure to a long standing legal matter tied to the Telangana statehood movement era.
