Hyderabad: Software Engineer Dies by Suicide After Marital Distress, Police Probe WhatsApp Message

Hyderabad witnessed a tragic incident after a software engineer allegedly died by suicide, reportedly overwhelmed by personal and marital issues. The man jumped into Hussain Sagar lake, triggering shock and grief among locals and colleagues.

According to police officials, the deceased was working with a private software company and had been living in Hyderabad for professional reasons. He was married and had children. However, differences between the couple had reportedly intensified in recent months, leading to frequent disputes.

Investigators said the situation worsened after his wife left the marital home along with their children in January. The engineer later filed a complaint at a local police station, stating that he was distressed over the separation and lack of communication.

Before the incident, the man allegedly posted a WhatsApp status message stating that his wife and in- laws were responsible for his mental anguish. Shortly after, he is believed to have jumped into Hussain Sagar.

HYDRA and disaster response personnel recovered the body from the lake following information from passersby. Police shifted the body to Osmania Hospital for postmortem examination.

A case has been registered, and officials said all angles are being examined, including the circumstances mentioned in the message. Police added that further action would be taken based on evidence and postmortem findings.
