Hyderabad residents have been advised to prepare for heavy traffic diversions after authorities temporarily closed the busy Uppal Ring Road junction from today. The restrictions are being implemented as part of the Uppal to Narapally elevated corridor construction project.
Officials said the traffic curbs will remain in force for nearly three months and several alternative routes have already been arranged to reduce congestion around the construction zone. Daily commuters using Uppal and surrounding routes are expected to face delays during peak hours.
Vehicles traveling from Ramanthapur and Habsiguda toward Warangal will now be diverted through roads near Pista House and behind Little Flower School before reconnecting to the Warangal National Highway through Beerappaguda. Authorities have already shifted the Warangal bus stop near the GHMC office to the Nallacheruvu embankment area.
Commuters traveling from Nagole and LB Nagar toward Warangal have been advised to use the Outer Ring Road route through Hayathnagar and Pedda Amberpet. Vehicles can also use the service road connection toward Ghatkesar to reach the national highway.
Traffic police also announced route changes for vehicles moving from Peerzadiguda toward Secunderabad. Drivers will need to pass through Laxmi Reddy Colony before reaching the Master Chef restaurant near Uppal Metro Station and then take a U turn toward Secunderabad.
Motorists traveling from Peerzadiguda to Nagole are being directed through the Uppal Bhagayat Layout route. Similarly, vehicles coming from Nagole toward Warangal must also use the Bhagayat diversion route during the restriction period.
Officials clarified that there are currently no restrictions for vehicles moving from Habsiguda toward Nagole. Traffic police urged commuters to plan journeys in advance and follow diversion instructions carefully to avoid unnecessary delays and congestion around Uppal junction.
