Jana Sena steps into Telangana municipal battle as Pawan Kalyan campaign sparks political heat

With municipal elections approaching fast, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan plans an active campaign across Telangana, backing party nominees and BJP allies, triggering sharp reactions and fresh calculations among rivals

Jana Sena has once again entered the Telangana political arena, this time with a clear focus on the upcoming municipal elections. The party’s decision to actively contest and campaign has suddenly turned what seemed like a routine local poll into a closely watched political contest.

Even before party chief Pawan Kalyan formally stepped onto the campaign trail, rival parties began attacking the move. His arrival alone has created enough buzz to make Jana Sena one of the most discussed players in the election season.

Although Pawan’s association with Telangana politics is not new, the current visit carries added significance. The actor turned politician recently participated in development initiatives at the Kondagattu Anjaneya temple with TTD support, but this time his tour is purely political and election driven.

Jana Sena has fielded candidates in several municipalities while also extending support to its ally BJP. Pawan is scheduled to tour the state for two days, campaigning both for his party nominees and for BJP candidates. Senior BJP leaders, including the state president and Union minister Kishan Reddy, have already invited him to join the campaign.

Ahead of the tour, Pawan met Telangana unit leaders and discussed strategy, urging cadres to connect directly with voters at the grassroots. The party hopes his personal appeal and star power will energize supporters and attract undecided voters.

However, the re entry has not gone unchallenged. Congress leaders have demanded that Pawan clarify his past statements on Telangana statehood. Some ministers have openly questioned the relevance of Jana Sena and BJP in the state, suggesting that the campaign may not significantly alter the political landscape.

Despite the criticism, the growing attention around his visit indicates that his presence cannot be ignored. Supporters believe his speeches could shift local equations, while opponents worry about vote splits in closely contested wards.

With emotions and expectations running high, the key question remains whether Pawan Kalyan’s campaign will turn into a political advantage for Jana Sena and its allies or simply add noise to an already crowded election fight. The results of the municipal polls will ultimately reveal how much influence his presence truly carries.
