Seven students at Kakatiya Medical College in Warangal are facing disciplinary action following two separate ragging incidents that have raised concerns over student safety on campus. Authorities confirmed that strict measures were taken after formal complaints and internal inquiries.

In one of the cases, third year MBBS students were accused of humiliating their juniors by forcing them to kneel. The incident reportedly began after disagreements over comments shared on social media. Following a complaint, the college Anti Ragging Committee conducted a detailed investigation and imposed a three month suspension on the accused. Additionally, their hostel accommodation was permanently cancelled as part of the disciplinary action.

In a separate incident, a first year BSc Radiology student was allegedly assaulted by seniors after a disagreement during a practical session. The situation escalated beyond the classroom when the student was reportedly called to a location near Bhadrakali Temple, where he was physically attacked.

The victim later approached the police along with family members and filed a complaint at the Mattewada police station. However, police reportedly advised them to take up the matter with the college administration, citing it as an internal ragging issue.

Both incidents occurred recently and have drawn attention to the need for stricter enforcement of anti ragging measures in educational institutions. College authorities stated that action was taken promptly after verifying the complaints and assured that such behavior will not be tolerated.

The back to back incidents have sparked concern among students and parents, with calls for stronger monitoring systems and preventive steps to ensure a safe academic environment within the campus.
