To prevent any last minute defections winning councillors have been moved to secure locations outside the district. A similar situation is unfolding in the newly formed Kalluru municipality. Here too the fight for the chairperson post has pushed parties into strategic planning. Congress leaders are reportedly keeping their elected members together by relocating them to Hyderabad soon after the results were declared.
Plans are in place to bring the councillors back to Kalluru only on the day of the chairperson and vice chairperson elections. Party leadership wants to ensure unity and avoid any influence from rival groups during the crucial voting phase.
