Kishan Reddy writes toCM KCR on science city

Hyderabad, July 29 (UNI): Union minister for tourism & culture G. Kishan Reddy today wrote an open letter to CM KCR on the issue of the establishment of a science city in the State capital. He told the CM that he wrote a similar letter to him on December 15, 2021, urging him to send proposals for the establishment of the science city to be set up to the Union ministry of culture and added that the secretary of the union ministry of culture also wrote a letter to the chief secretary of the State Somesh Kumar on the same issue.

He told the CM that there was no response from the State government on the issue even after writing two letters. He said he wrote another letter on May 6, 2022, stating that the Director General of NCSM in Kolkata would extend technical assistance required by the State government in the preparation of a DPR of the science city project and added that there was no response from the state government to his letter third letter.

Stating that he is writing the present letter to the CM to explain to him the importance of the science city and the need to establish it, he said that the establishment of the science city would not only help in increasing interest among the students and youth of the state about science but it would also attract tourists to the state. He said that the science-related inventions done at the science city would motivate scores of students in taking up new experiments. He said that Hyderabad, which is the house of several institutes of national importance like CCMB, IICT, CFSL, CDFD, NGRI, NIN, IN-COIS, IIIT, and DMRL, has all the requisites to establish the science city. He said that the science cities established in Kolkata, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Kurukshetra not only attracted thousands of students and youth but also developed into great tourism spots.
