A road accident on National Highway 65 near the Kodad bypass left sixteen passengers injured after a private travels bus collided with a truck in the early hours of Saturday.
The bus, carrying around 36 passengers, was travelling from Hyderabad to Eluru in Andhra Pradesh when the incident took place. According to initial reports, the driver lost control of the vehicle and rammed into the truck from behind.
Following the crash, local residents quickly responded and helped rescue the injured passengers. They were immediately shifted to the Government General Hospital in Kodad for treatment.
Authorities suspect that driver fatigue may have played a role in the accident, with unconfirmed reports suggesting the driver might have dozed off at the wheel before the collision.
The impact of the crash caused panic among passengers, though timely assistance from locals helped prevent further escalation. Police are expected to investigate the exact cause of the accident.
