The Telangana government is stepping up efforts to position itself as a global destination for aerospace and defence investments, with a fresh invitation extended to United States companies to explore opportunities in the state.
During a recent interaction with a delegation from the US National War College in Hyderabad, IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu highlighted the state’s rapid progress and its ambition to become a strategic hub for advanced manufacturing and technology.
The minister emphasized that Telangana is witnessing significant growth in aerospace and defence sectors, with annual expansion crossing 30 percent. He also pointed out a remarkable surge in exports, recording over 100 percent compound growth between 2024 and 2026.
Calling for deeper collaboration, the state invited US firms, academic institutions, and research organizations to partner in key areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, space technology, and advanced manufacturing. The government aims to build a strong ecosystem that supports innovation and high end production.
A major strength of Telangana lies in its thriving industrial base. More than 1500 MSMEs are actively contributing to defence electronics, drone development, and precision engineering. These enterprises are playing a critical role in strengthening the supply chain and boosting local manufacturing capabilities.
The government is also focusing on emerging segments including drone systems, counter drone technologies, satellite development, and advanced communication systems. Officials believe these areas will drive the next phase of industrial growth in the state.
Hyderabad continues to stand out as a preferred destination due to its cost efficiency and strong infrastructure. The city was recently recognized as one of the most cost effective aerospace locations globally, further enhancing its appeal for international investors.
Telangana’s consistent policy support and industry friendly environment have also earned national recognition. The state has received the Best State for Aerospace award from the Government of India for five consecutive years.
With sustained growth, skilled talent, and a supportive ecosystem, Telangana is positioning itself as a key player in the global aerospace and defence landscape, aiming to attract long term international partnerships.
