The Telangana Assembly was adjourned to Monday following the completion of the budget presentation, with proceedings witnessing disruptions due to protests from opposition members. Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar announced the adjournment after the session concluded.

Earlier in the day, Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka presented the budget for the financial year 2026 27 in the Assembly. The budget outlines significant allocations aimed at welfare programs and development sectors.

A major share of the budget has been allocated to guarantee schemes, reflecting the government’s focus on fulfilling its commitments. Substantial funds have also been earmarked for education and human resource development, highlighting efforts to strengthen the sector.

The government pointed out that several welfare measures are already being implemented, including schemes related to women’s support, free services, and household benefits. Additional provisions in the budget aim to expand these initiatives further.

Officials stated that the budget is designed to counter criticism from the opposition by demonstrating concrete allocations and progress on promises. The Assembly will reconvene on Monday, where further discussions on the budget are expected to continue.
