Telangana Budget 2026 Focuses on Massive Road Development Push

Road infrastructure has emerged as a top priority in the Telangana Budget 2026, with the state preparing for an unprecedented investment push. Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy announced that road development works worth over one lakh crore rupees are underway across the state, signalling a decisive move towards stronger connectivity.
The minister reviewed budget proposals for the Roads Buildings and Cinematography departments along with Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka at the Secretariat. Discussions focused on last year’s allocations progress of ongoing works and the need for realistic planning in the upcoming financial year.
Highlighting the importance of game changing projects, Komatireddy said special attention is being given to the Regional Ring Road. He noted that under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, strengthening the road network is central to the vision of Rising Telangana 2047.
Several key corridors are progressing at different stages, including the Hyderabad Vijayawada National Highway expansion, roads from Future City to Bandar Port and the Raviryala to Srisailam stretch. The minister said eight lane expansion works on NH 65 will begin soon and once completed travel time between Hyderabad and Vijayawada could reduce to just two and a half hours.
He also stressed transparency in handling central and state funds and said coordination with the Union government will be strengthened. Komatireddy added that improved road infrastructure will attract investments support industries and generate employment across Telangana.
