Declaring a major milestone in internal security, Telangana Director General of Police Shivadhar Reddy stated that the state is now free from Maoist presence. His remarks came during an official visit to the forested border areas near Chhattisgarh, where security forces continue to maintain vigilance.

During the tour, the DGP inspected key locations in the Karregutta region and initiated development works aimed at strengthening security infrastructure. He laid the foundation for a new police outpost and an inter agency coordination center near the Pamuunoor base camp, emphasizing improved coordination among forces operating in sensitive zones.

Highlighting the progress made over the years, Shivadhar Reddy credited both state and central governments for their coordinated efforts in curbing extremism. He noted that sustained operations and strategic planning have played a crucial role in eliminating Maoist activity from the region.

At the same time, the DGP extended an appeal to any remaining cadres to surrender and reintegrate into society. He encouraged them to take advantage of rehabilitation opportunities and lead a peaceful life within the mainstream.
