The Telangana government is set to roll out a series of drug awareness programs across the state beginning April 27, as part of its ongoing Praja Palana initiative. These programs will focus on educating students, youth and parents about the dangers of drug use and the measures being taken to prevent it.

Officials said the awareness drive will run until May 2 and will also include a strong emphasis on child safety. The initiative aims to create a more informed community while strengthening preventive efforts against substance abuse.

The campaign is part of a larger 99 day action plan designed to address key social and developmental issues. Over the past few weeks, the government has already conducted programs related to sanitation, public health, file clearance and road safety to improve governance and service delivery.

Following the anti drug phase, the government has scheduled a series of thematic initiatives. From May 4 to May 10, focus will shift to agriculture and infrastructure, covering farmer welfare, irrigation, electricity and revenue related services.

Education will take centre stage between May 11 and May 16, with programs highlighting the importance of quality learning and awareness about government schemes for students and parents. This will be followed by youth engagement activities from May 18 to May 23, encouraging participation in sports and promoting a healthier lifestyle.

Women empowerment initiatives are planned from May 25 to May 30, with a goal of supporting financial independence and creating opportunities for women across the state. The final phase of the program, scheduled from June 1 to June 12, will focus on environmental protection and sustainability.

Through this structured approach, the Telangana government aims to address multiple aspects of social development while ensuring active public participation in its welfare initiatives.
