The worsening heatwave in Telangana has claimed two lives in Khammam district, drawing attention to the growing dangers of extreme summer temperatures across the state. Officials and health experts are urging people to remain cautious as conditions continue to intensify.

In one of the incidents, a 65 year old woman from Vippalamadaka village in Wyra mandal died after suffering from heatstroke. She had been staying in a tin roof shelter and reportedly fell ill due to prolonged exposure to high temperatures. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, she could not survive.

In another case, a 40 year old woman from Nagulavancha village in Chintakani mandal lost her life after developing severe health issues linked to heat exposure. She had been working outdoors as a labourer and returned home unwell before collapsing. A local doctor later confirmed her death.

These incidents come at a time when Telangana is experiencing unusually high temperatures, with several districts already recording levels close to or above 40 degrees. The heat is not only affecting daily life but also posing serious risks to people engaged in outdoor work.

Weather experts have warned that temperatures may climb even higher in the coming days, with some regions expected to touch 45 degrees. The increase in heatwave days this season has raised concerns about public health, especially among vulnerable groups.

Authorities are advising people to limit outdoor activities during peak hours and take necessary precautions to avoid heat related illnesses. The recent deaths serve as a reminder of the harsh impact of extreme weather conditions and the need for increased awareness and safety measures.
