In a major push toward improving employability among students, the Telangana government is set to introduce 39 job oriented courses across undergraduate and postgraduate programs from the next academic year.

The initiative aims to ensure that students step into the job market with industry ready skills immediately after completing their education. Officials believe the move will help bridge the growing gap between academic learning and industry requirements.

Every year, thousands of students graduate but struggle to find suitable jobs due to lack of practical skills. At the same time, companies face difficulty in hiring candidates with the right expertise. The new courses are designed to address this mismatch.

The Telangana State Council of Higher Education has confirmed that the syllabus for these courses will be prepared in the coming months. The courses are expected to cover emerging sectors such as aerospace, defence, fintech, life sciences, climate science and food technology.

Authorities said that strong collaboration between industries and educational institutions will be a key feature of the program. Students will be required to complete internships, practical training and industry projects as part of their curriculum.

The initiative is also aligned with the long term vision to create large scale employment opportunities in the state. Officials estimate that these courses could contribute to generating significant job prospects in the coming years.

Special focus is also being given to rural students through courses related to agriculture and rural development. Additionally, new learning tools such as AI based tutors will be introduced to support students in both English and regional languages.

With these changes, Telangana aims to transform its higher education system into a more skill driven and employment focused model, preparing students for real world careers from day one.
