has issued a stern warning to educational institutions across Telangana over the growing concern of drug usage among students. The Telangana Police chief made it clear that managements cannot escape responsibility if drugs are discovered inside campuses.
Expressing serious concern over the issue, the DGP said institutions can no longer claim ignorance when students are found consuming or possessing narcotic substances within educational premises. He stated that authorities would directly hold college and school managements accountable in such cases.
The warning comes amid increasing efforts by Telangana Police to crack down on drug networks and prevent narcotics from reaching students. Officials believe educational institutions must play a proactive role in monitoring student activity and ensuring campuses remain drug free.
CV Anand stressed that managements should not treat drug abuse as an issue limited only to students. Instead, institutions are expected to cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies, strengthen internal monitoring systems and immediately report suspicious activities to the police.
According to police officials, strict action will be initiated against institutions where repeated violations or negligence are found. Authorities also warned that failure to maintain proper vigilance could invite legal consequences for owners and administrators.
The Telangana Police have been conducting awareness programmes, surveillance operations and anti drug campaigns in schools and colleges as part of a larger effort to protect young people from substance abuse. Officials say the focus is now shifting towards fixing accountability at the institutional level to ensure stronger prevention measures across campuses.
