The Telangana Intermediate Public Examinations 2026 began today across the state, marking an important phase for first and second year students. Examination officials confirmed that all exams will start at 9 am, and students are advised to reach their centres at least thirty minutes early to avoid last minute stress.

The board has allowed a five minute grace period. Students arriving up to 9.05 am will still be permitted inside the exam hall. Entry is strictly based on hall tickets, and no student will be allowed without it. Officials clarified that even hall tickets downloaded directly from the official website are valid, and the principal’s signature is not mandatory.

From today, first year intermediate students are appearing for their papers, while second year exams will begin from Thursday. This year, about 9.97 lakh students are writing the exams at 1,495 centres across Telangana. The examinations will continue until March 18 as per the schedule.

To reduce travel difficulties, RTC has announced special support for students. Buses will stop for students even at non designated stops during exam days. Male students can travel free by showing hall tickets or concession passes, while women students will receive zero fare tickets under the Mahalakshmi scheme. These benefits apply on all exam days, including holidays and Sundays.

The Intermediate Board has also announced the evaluation plan. Answer paper valuation will begin from March 4, starting with Sanskrit papers. The process will be completed in three phases, and results are expected in the second week of April.

Students facing exam related issues can contact the board helpline numbers 04024655027 or 9240205555. Those experiencing stress or anxiety can call the Tele Manas toll free mental health helpline at 14416, which is available round the clock.
