- Organic produce marketing boosted with TG Organics platform
In a significant push towards modernizing agriculture, Telangana is set to launch the TG Organics mobile app, a first of its kind initiative aimed at transforming how organic produce reaches consumers. The platform is designed to directly connect farmers with buyers, removing the need for intermediaries.
The app will be officially launched in Tandur of Vikarabad district by Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao. Developed by the state authorities, the platform focuses on ensuring that farmers receive fair prices while consumers gain access to genuine organic products.
Currently, organic farming is expanding steadily across the state, with nearly ten thousand farmers cultivating crops over fifty thousand acres without chemical inputs. Despite this growth, farmers have struggled with limited market access and dependency on middlemen, often resulting in reduced profits.
TG Organics addresses this gap by allowing farmers to list their produce and set prices independently. Consumers can locate farmers within a fifty kilometer radius, access their contact details, and purchase products directly. In its initial phase, the app includes around one hundred certified organic products and details of about five hundred farmers.
Another major objective of the platform is to curb the sale of fake organic products in the market. By offering verified listings, the app aims to build trust and transparency between producers and buyers.
Officials believe that this initiative could position Telangana as a leading hub for organic agriculture in the country. Plans are already in place to expand the platform by adding more farmers and a wider range of products in the coming phases.
Alongside the launch, the government has reiterated its commitment to supporting farmers through procurement systems and fair pricing policies. Authorities have been instructed to ensure smooth crop purchases and avoid any inconvenience to farmers, reinforcing the state’s focus on agricultural welfare.
