TGSPDCL Launches WhatsApp Chatbot for Faster Electricity Services

In a move aimed at easing electricity related issues during the summer season, Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited has rolled out WhatsApp chatbot based services for consumers across the state. The new digital initiative allows users to access power services directly from their mobile phones without visiting offices.

Through the chatbot, consumers can register power complaints track their status check electricity bill details and receive updates on power supply. Officials said the platform has been designed using artificial intelligence to ensure quicker and more efficient responses even during high demand periods.

TGSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Musharraf Farooqui said the AI powered chatbot will help thousands of users simultaneously unlike traditional call centres which often face congestion. He added that the service is part of the department’s push towards faster digital solutions.

The CMD also warned consumers to remain cautious of cyber frauds. He said fake calls and messages claiming pending electricity bills and threatening power disconnection are on the rise. Consumers were advised not to click on unknown links and to verify all billing related information only through the official WhatsApp chatbot.

Officials believe the new service will not only improve response time but also help consumers protect themselves from electricity bill related scams. TGSPDCL urged users to save the official chatbot number to ensure secure and reliable access to power services.
